How Do I Tie Down 3 Kayaks On My Roof Rack With The Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack

Question:

What is the weight limit for the Nautic Stack ?   Im looking to haul 3 10foot kayaks around 40lbs each on a 2012 Honda CRV roof rack.   Will that support all three at that weight ? I reviewed the installation instructions, but it only shows a  single Kayak installation.  Do you have instructions for multiple kayaks ?    How do you connect the front and rear anchor straps for 3 kayaks ? I see bonnet style tie downs.  Do they come with this ?  Will they work for  what Im describing ?   Thanks so much for all your help.

The weight limit for the Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - Post Style - Folding - 4 Kayaks, part # RRS520, is 165lbs, so it can support the weight of your kayaks. If you have an aftermarket roof rack, and it is not an Inno roof rack, that is also the weight limit of your rack. (If it is an Inno Roof Rack that weight limit is 120 lbs.) That 165 lbs includes the weight of your roof rack, your roof rack accessories, and the weight of the items you will be carrying. If your boats weigh 40 lbs each and your are carrying three of them, the rest of your roof rack cannot exceed 40 lbs of weight. That maximum weight limit is the same for your factory rack.

This carrier comes with two tie down straps with cam buckles to carry up to two boats. It also comes with two sets of bow and stern tie-down straps, but they are not bonnet type tie-down straps. If you want to carry more than two boats I recommend getting the Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps - 15/16" x 18' - 165 lbs - Qty 2, part # RRRTD55P. These straps match the straps that come with the Nautic Stack. I prefer to tie down kayaks with the Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap Loops - 13' - Qty 2, part # TH855XT, because of the ratchet mechanism. I have always found them to be tighter than the bonnet type of tie-down strap. I usually use the handles of my kayak as the anchor points for my bow and stern tie-downs. If you do not have tie down spots on your vehicle you can get the Rhino-Rack Anchor Straps - Qty 2, part # RRRBAS-2, to anchor your bow and stern straps. It creates temporary tie down points for your vehicle, under the hood and in the trunk/hatch of your vehicle.

The instructions we have linked to the product description on the etrailer website, do show diagrams of multiple kayaks and how they can be carried on the roof. I have included a picture from these instructions that show the multiple ways you can carry your boats below. There are also product description links and video review links that show you how to tie-down your kayaks to your vehicle below.
