Can Derale D16928 be Used as Pusher Fan
Question:
D16928. I need to mount this as a supplemental fan in front of the radiator attached to my front bumper brush guard....so theyll be pushers as they be mounted facing same direction but in front of rad So it would be exposed to the elements like rain in summer and can remove it in winter. My winch/ bumper setup is very restrictive to flow and in summer heat of 110°+ towing heavy up steep grades at 8200ft +, I want to be able to turn on these fans to help keep temps in check. I will use relay and switch in cab to energise from a direct fused battery cable. Just wondering if theyll handle a little rain in the desert southwest????

The Derale fan you asked about is only able to be used as a puller, so it wouldn't work as a pusher application. And these electric fans should be mounted inside the engine compartment as opposed to outside (you wouldn't want it exposed to the elements).
The best option we can offer if you have limited clearance is a pusher fan with as little depth as possible:
- Derale 17" High-Output, Electric, Single Radiator Fan - 2,400 CFM # D18217
This is a single fan which is 16-7/8" wide x 16-7/8" tall x 2-5/8" deep, and that 2-5/8" depth is the least amount of any fan, which may work for you. Then for a switch with this fan you would use the Derale Lighted On/Off Switch for Electric Fans # D16740.
