We have this solar panel mounted flat on a trailer to power a battery for a winch, which has been working very well. Now the indicator light does not work, but the solar panel does work. Do you recommend tilting the panel a bit so that water does not lay on it?

The 2.5-Watt Solar Battery Charger # PTW2997 you were looking at is waterproof so getting water on it should not cause issues. There is not a problem with mounting the charger flat as we have chosen to mount it in this manner as you can see in the included video.
