Recommended Wiring Harness For A 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
I have a 2015 Jeep JK Unlimited that I am looking to flat tow behind my motorhome. I am looking at the Blue Ox Wiring Kit - BLU79FR, is this the correct kit for my vehicle or do I need to purchase something different?

The Blue Ox Tow Bar Wiring Kit # BLU79FR is for 2018 Wranglers and newer so it will not work for your 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Instead I recommend the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This kit will splice into your vehicle's wiring to signal using your vehicle's tail lights. This kit also comes with a 6 to 7 way cable to attach you vehicle to your motorhome.
To flat tow your 2015 Jeep Wrangler you'll also need a tow bar, base plate, braking system and safety cables. If you don't already have these then I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000lbs # RM-522. The non-binding design allows you to release your vehicle at any time, anywhere on even or unlevel ground and large hookup radius makes connecting a breeze at any angle, even if your vehicle isn't perfectly lined up with your RV.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521448-5. This base plate will fit a standard bumper, if you have a different bumper then let me know and I can find the correct fit for you. The removable direct connect arms make hookup a breeze and provide a clean look when not in use.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking with the remote from your motorhome. The included charge line kit will keep your vehicle's battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs Item # RM-643. The coiled design will prevent the cables from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level between your motorhome and Jeep. Since this requires some measuring I've attached our guide to determining the correct adapter for your needs and attached our page of high/low adapters as well.
