Is 24x40 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper Long Enough to Carry 2 Adult Bikes
Question:
24x40 Cargo Carrier. Is it big enough to carry 2 adult bicycles?
asked by: Dennis
Expert Reply:
Adult bicycles can vary in size, but generally speaking, the 40 inch inside width of the 24x40 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e99050 won't be wide enough to carry a pair of bikes, so you'd need the 24" Extension for etrailer Bumper Mounted RV Cargo Carrier # e99052.
That said, with the open floor design of Cargo Carrier # e99050 it will be difficult to get bikes to properly mount in the carrier, so if your only goal is to use this to carry bikes, a better option would be a bumper-mounted bike rack such as the RV Bumper 2 Bike Rack # S80605 or Swagman Traveler XC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches or RV Bumpers # S64663.
Another option would be to add a hitch to your RV bumper and a bike rack rated for use behind a trailer, which you can do with the RV Bumper 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # S64025 and Swagman Dispatch Bike Rack # S44FR.
