The B&W 2-5/16" Hitch Ball w/ 2" Rise - 1-1/2" Diameter x 2-3/4" Long Shank - Raw - 30K # BWHB94006 is typically used with a standard 2 5/16 coupler, like the Demco 50-Degree A-Frame Trailer Coupler # 12660-97SP for example. However, it can also be used to pull a 5th wheel camper that has been converted to connect to a gooseneck ball with something like the Reese Goose Box # RP85FR.

With that being said, the # BWHB94006 should not just be attached to the bed of a standard 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck. When being used as a gooseneck ball, there needs to be a reinforced plate on a flat bed truck going across the frame for support. If you have this kind of set-up already, then you will be good to go.

If you have a standard 2005 F-150 pick up, you will need to add a gooseneck hitch to the bed. The correct hitch will depend on your bed size, but for a 5 1/2 foot bed, I recommend the Draw-Tite Remov-A-Ball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # 6300-4437. For a 6 1/2 or 8 foot bed, I recommend the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch # C60721. Both of these options are rated up to 30,000 pounds and include customer installation kits, making the install significantly easier.
