Recommended Amount Of AC Units With Heat Strips For A 36ft Insulated Gooseneck Enclosed Trailer

Question:

I have a 36foot Insulated gooseneck trailer with a computer system inside. Travels mostly in the northern part of North America. I was wondering if 1 x 13500BTU unit is considered enough, or if it would be better to install a 2nd unit. We want to keep temperature around 72-74F. Thanks

It really depends on the weather you're going to be in, 50-60 degree weather is different than 20-30 degree weather. The harsher the weather the harder the unit is going to have to work. The Heat Strip # ACMHD for the Advent Air # ACM135CH is 5,500 BTU's so you will most likely want to install two units based on the size of your trailer.

The # ACM135CH will come with the heat strip, air distribution box, roof top unit, and a start capacitor which will make starting up your units much easier when working with a generator or campsite shore power that isn't enough. The heat strip is is operated with the control dial on the air distribution box. After you turn the dial to the OPT. HEAT setting, the compressor will shut off, and the fan will blow air over the heater and into your RV. When the optimal temperature has been reached, turn the dial to a fan or cooling setting. Please also note that the heat strip only has one temperature setting and cannot be controlled by the thermostat.

If you plan on being in weather lower than 50 degrees consistently and need a regular heating source I recommend installing a furnace instead.
