Can Weight Distribution be Used with a Draw-Tite 75148 on a 2007 Murano

Question:

I see above in the QandA about the recommendation for the 2003 Nissan Murano weight distribution hitch that will work with this Draw-Tite hitch. That post was very helpful! But then a later question about a compatible WDH for a 2006 Nissan Murano was answered with a suspension upgrade instead, and a statement that there isn’t a compatible WDH for the setup. Did something change in the Murano production during those years that makes the vehicle and Draw-Tite hitch incompatible with weight distribution hitches? I drive a 2007 Murano SE AWD and have this hitch installed. I am hoping to tow a camper trailer with a dry weight of 2700 lbs and a tongue weight of around 365, which exceeds the tongue weight limit of my vehicle, hence the need for a WDH. Thanks for any advice on the subject.

The Draw-Tite # 75148 is designed for standard towing only and cannot be used with weight distribution, unfortunately.

With that being said, if you can find a camper with a lighter tongue weight, you would be fine to tow with a standard ball mount. If you do end up going with a lighter camper, you can add on the Reese Sway-Control Bracket for 2" Ball Mounts # RP26003 and Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 for a sway control option if needed.

If you also experience squatting, I do suggest going with Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for Coil Springs # AL60774. Though this will not increase the towing or tongue capacity, it will definitely help level the vehicle out when towing.
