Why Won't the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT # TH92BJ Work with a Fifth-Wheel Trailer?
Question:
Does anyone know the reason why this shows to not be compatible with a 5th wheel trailer. My trailer has a 2inch receiver with a 350lb rating so Im not sure why this wouldnt work.

I have a solution for you. The reason why the Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT # TH92BJ is not rated for fifth-wheel trailers is because the construction of the rack will not be able to withstand the particular amount of force that is exerted on the rack when mounted. When your trailer is moving at certain speeds, there are different levels of torque that the rack experiences. The Thule DoubleTrack Pro XT will not withstand those forces.
However, a great alternative bike rack that can withstand the force of a fifth-wheel trailer is the Swagman Dispatch Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # S44FR. The Dispatch comes with a 45 pound per-bike weight capacity (compared to the 35 of the DoubleTrack Pro XT). Also, you can add 5-inch wheel cradles for fat bikes with part # S64694. Your 2-inch hitch receiver will be able to accommodate the Dispatch.
