Troubleshooting Thomas Payne RV Recliner That Does Not Retract

Question:

How do I identify my Thomas Payne recliner model? Also, the footrest will not retract. Does that sound like control box?

It sounds like the control box is faulty on your Thomas Payne recliner, however, you could also try unplugging the chair for 10+ minutes to let the chair reset and also check for any wires that could have been pinched and damaged. If it is still not able to recline then you very likely need a new control box.

To find the correct control box you will need to verify if you have a Momentum series or Seismic Series. The manufacturer was not able to tell me exactly where to look for a part number, but you should be able to find one underneath the chair somewhere. If you find out that you have a Momentum series then go with control box # 195-387596; if you have the Seismic series then go with control box # LC36FR.

There is also a slight possibility that another component is faulty, such as the power cord, although the control box is the most common component to fail and that is what I would try first.
