Since your Kwikee RV Step isn't working with the ignition switch anymore I'd recommend checking the wiring of the switch and step as there's most likely an issue there. I attached a wiring diagram I took from the install instructions for you to compare to your RV.

Most likely you have a mechanical issue if you can hear the motor wanting to move the steps but not able to. I'd be willing to bet you have a problem with the gear box and need the Replacement Gear Box and A Linkage for Kwikee Electric RV…
