How To Use Thule T2 Classic For 1-1/4 Receiver TH9045 In 2 Trailer Hitch Receiver
Question:
The shank doesn’t fit on my classic 2, 1 1/4 hitch. The flat head screw hole and pin hole do not line up. I don’t have a screw hole for the flat head screw on the rack.

I have another option for you, but you are correct that the Thule Shank # 853-7292 you purchased does not fit your Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack with a 1-1/4" Shank. There is not a replacement shank available to convert your rack to work with the 2" version.
Instead you will need the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # C45770 so you can use the anti-rattle hitch lock included with your bike rack, and then use the # 63232 to secure the adapter to your trailer hitch receiver.
Keep in mind this will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch receiver by 50%, so you will need to make sure your bike rack and bikes do not exceed the new lower capacity of your hitch.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
