Yes, you could install the Hopkins Agility Trailer Brake Controller # HM47294 on a 2011 Ford Escape. You will need a few other components to complete the installation but this controller would definitely work on your Escape.

First you will need a 4-way connection at the rear of the vehicle if you do not have one. For that I would recommend you get a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118551. This will cover all of the turn signal and brake light functions for the trailer.

Next you will need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install and use a brake controller like the # HM47294. For that you will need a Universal Installation Kit forTrailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This comes with everything you will need.
