Parts Needed to Tow Utility Trailer with 2010 Acura RDX
Question:
2010 Acura RDX needs hitch and ball to tow 5foot x 8foot u-haul trailer, system must be able to handle 2000lb load per U-haul. Looks like I need a Class 2 hitch with 2inch ball. also need electrical for trailer lights. What do you suggest? Thanks!

We have just what you need, but there is not a Class II hitch for your 2010 Acura RDX; instead there are Class III hitches with 2" receivers that are rated higher than a Class II, so they're well suited for your needs. I recommend using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 75784 which installs without any drilling required and will have a little bit better ground clearance than the Curt # C13154 that is also a confirmed fit for your RDX.
For the wiring, I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118500 because of the reliability of the converter boxes on Tekonsha harnesses. This is a plug and play installation, so it'll be easy to install and will allow you to power a trailer without brakes, which is typical of a smaller U-haul trailer that you've mentioned.
You'll also need a ball mount, hitch ball, hitch pin and clip; you can get a complete kit like the # EBMK4 that comes with all of those parts and a handy carrying bag. I've linked a helpful article that explains how to measure to determine if you need a rise or drop ball mount to tow this trailer level, as well as our entire selection of ball mount kits if you need something with a bit different rise or drop.
I've also linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to check out.
