How is the Installation Hardware of the Curt Hitch # C12115 attached to a 2011 Buick LaCrosse
Question:
it looks like the bolts go through the rear frame members. Do you have to go through the trunk or do the bolts go over the frame member from underneath the car?

The installation bolts for the Curt Trailer Hitch # C12115 that you referenced do go through the frame rails. To get the bolts through the frame they will need to be fishwired into place. You would not need access anything from the trunk of your 2011 Buick LaCrosse.
I attached an FAQ video on fishwiring for you to check out. I also attached a copy of the installation sheet for this hitch for you to check out.
