Using Bearing Buddy Protectors on 2013 Karavan Single PWC With Waterproof Stamped Dust Cap

Question:

My Karavan single place pwc trailer has a torsion axle. I want to install bearing buddies. The cap doesnt have a number on it. The dust cap also says waterproofinch and has a small oring around the base. Does that mean bearing buddies arent needed? If they are of a benefit, do I reuse the o-ring?

After reviewing the Karavan trailer owner's manual I found the following information:

Please note that some Karavan Trailer models are equipped with Knott-AutoFlex
Waterproof bearings that require no maintenance. DO NOT remove the metal cap for
any reason or damage could result to the bearings. The caps have KNOTT–
WATERPROOF stamped in them.

It sounds like this is what you are describing with the waterproof stamp. Based on this information, I would not recommend using the # BB1781 Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors.
