If the aftermarket part you install on your vehicle is both installed correctly and operates within the parameters of the intent, then, the following law which was enacted in 1975 holds true: Consumers of aftermarket products are protected by the Federal Magnusson-Moss Warranty Act. The Act states that if something breaks on your vehicle and you take it in for warranty repair, the dealer must honor your warranty unless whatever modifications you have added to your vehicle actually caused the problem
in question.
When adding a transmission cooler to your vehicle, it is always best to go with the largest cooler that will fit. The recommended installation location is in front of the AC condenser or the radiator.
If you have the space, I would recommend the Derale Transmission Cooler part # D13503 because this cooler was designed to work with vehicles with weight capacities similar to your 2013 Toyota Tacoma. This cooler has an overall dimension of 11 inches wide x 8-3/4 inches tall x 7/8 inches deep.
To determine your return line:
1: Locate the transmission lines in your truck when the engine is cold
2: Drive your vehicle for about five to ten minutes
3: Using caution, you can detect which line is the return line by which line is cooler.
If you are not comfortable touching your transmission lines, some local auto parts stores sell automotive digital thermometers.
