Recommended 7-way Connector For 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon That Has 4-way Connector
Question:
I have a 2019 Subaru Outback 3.6 with the OEM trailer package flat four pin. We just purchased a newer pop up camper that has the round 7 blade connector. The camper does NOT have brakes nor do I plan on using the battery so I dont have a need to charge it. My question is can I cut off the 7 blade connector and splice on a standard flat four pin connector? Will I be able to match up the wires color for color? Or, is there an adapter I can purchase? Thanks!

We have exactly what you need!
Since your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon with the 3.6L engine already has a factory 4-way connector you can add a 7-way connector very easily by using the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole # 37185. This will plug into your factory 4-way connector and just require you to ground the white wire to the frame of your vehicle. This will give the 7-way connector all of the lighting functions, but not the brake wire or 12v power that you mentioned you didn't need anyways.
Should you need these features in the future you can use the # 5506 to add those.
To mount the connector to your trailer hitch receiver you will need the no drill mounting bracket # 18140 if you have a visible crosstube, or the # C58000 if you have a hidden crosstube.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
