Can I Use a Curt 1-1/4 Hitch # C11192 with an Adapter for the Sport Rider SE on a 2012 Audi A3?
Question:
Hello. I have a 2012 Audi A3, and Im considering this Curt C11192 class 1, 1.25inch hitch 200 lb. tongue weight. Im interested in the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2inch HR1450Z. I plan to only use it with 1 bike, using a 1.25inch to 2inch adapter but just temporarily for a couple months until I get a new SUV that can accommodate a 2, class 3 hitch. Would this be okay? It would be less than 100 lbs. Thanks.

Yes, it will be OK for you to use the Sport Rider SE 2 # HR1450Z with a hitch adapter to mount onto the 1-1/4 inch Curt hitch # C11192 as long as the combined weight of your bike and the adapter weighs equal to or less than 46 pounds (since the maximum weight capacity of the curt hitch will be 100 pounds and the Sport Rider SE 2 weighs 54 pounds).
If you need a hitch adapter recommendation, I recommend the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HTAD. Since the adapter only weighs 7 pounds, you will still have 39 pounds of leeway for your bike weight.
