2014 GMC Sierra 1500 Recommendations For Eliminating Rear End Sag
Question:
I have a 2014 gmc sierra 1500 crew can short box that has a front leveling kit on it. Im pulling a 27ft trailer and when hooked up my back end is 3 inches lower then front. How do i know if i need spacers or if the bump spots are enough? Thank you.

Expert Reply:
The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TGMRCK15S on your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 would only need the spacer that is included in the kit. These will replace the factory bump stops. Your leveling kit is for the front suspension only and did not alter the rear suspension.
If the only time you have rear end sag is when you are towing your 27' trailer I recommend using a Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET. The weight distribution system will allow you to level your Sierra when connected to your trailer. This will maintain your factory ride when you do not have the trailer, the Timbren system is known to create a stiffer ride when driving without weight. This kit will work on trailers with a tongue weight of 600-1000lbs and a maximum trailer weight of up to 10,000lbs, and will give you the addition of a sway control when driving.
A 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 is needed to install the 2-5/16" ball that comes with the hitch. And I recommend using the Sway Bracket Jackets # EQ95-01-5150 to increase the life of the parts and reduce noise from the hitch while maneuvering. These brackets reduce the metal on metal contact to quiet the hitch.
