Troubleshooting Tekonsha Voyager 39510 Having Green Light When Brake Pedal Is Pressed
Question:
I have a Tekonsha Voyager brake controller on my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Trailer brakes not engaging. Have green light on controller but no matter how I try to adjust or use the slider, it stays green. I hooked up a 7 way pin tester to the plug and it shows power. What should I check next?

Since you are getting the green light on your Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller # 39510 but are not getting the red/orange light when applying the brakes then more than likely there is a short in the brake output wire, but first make sure the gain setting on the controller is not set at the minimum. Since you are getting power to the 7-way connector of your 2006 Dodge Ram 1500, the issue is somewhere on the trailer.
You will want to check the wires running from each brake magnet to the trailer connector for any damage that could be causing the short, and fix it by replacing the damaged sections with # 10-1-1 and heat shrink butt connectors # DW05745-5 for a weather tight connection.
I included a video of the # 39510 for you to take a look at.
