Is It Normal For Battery In 2018 Jeep Cherokee To Get Drained While Being Flat Towed?
Question:
I had the harness kit installed in my Jeep so I could flat tow the vehicle behind my RV. On my first trip, I plugged in my brake system into the cigarette lighter of the jeep. When we got to our destination, the battery was drained. Since then, I bought a jump battery to plug in the brake while we travel, but the battery still drains to the point the Jeep wont start. I feel this problem is due to another issue regarding the harness installation. I turn the switch off, but do not remove the 10 amp fuse. I am beginning to think that power is still connected even though the switch is turned off.

On your 2018 Jeep Cherokee the battery is going to be getting drained as the battery is not disconnected and no fuses are pulled to flat tow your vehicle, so your harness is installed correctly.
To keep the battery from getting drained you will need to install the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 and Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes # RM-156-75.
This charge line takes power from your towed vehicles battery and sends it to the battery on your Jeep to keep it charged.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
