Recommended Tire And Wheel For Older Car Trailer With 4 Bolt Wheels and 7.00-15 LT Tires

Question:

I have an old heavy car trailer. Trailer currently has 4, GBC Tire s 7.00-15 LT, load rang D, also looks like 7.00 .16.BPR next to load range. also has LX-01-T-2-H-BK-011-0. It is a 4 bolt wheel. What do you have that would replace? May want new wheels and at least a spare.

I may have an option for replacing the 7.00-15 LT Load Range D tires and wheels on your older car trailer, but we do not offer any 7.00-15 tires.

The closest option to this size is the ST225/75R15 which will be 1" wider than your current tires but will be 1" shorter overall.

To make sure this will fit your trailer you will need to measure from the inside edge of your current tires to the frame. You will need to have at least 1-1/2" clearance for these to fit.

If you have adequate clearance I recommend going with the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10256 which will have a load rating of 2540lbs at 65 PSI and a 81 MPH speed rating.

Based on the pictures of your wheel it looks as though you have the older 4 on 9.44" bolt pattern which you can confirm by measuring the wheel as shown in the included diagram.

For this bolt pattern we have the Dexstar Vintage Steel Wheel w/ +5 mm Offset - 15" x 5" Rim - 4 on 9.44 - Silver # AM20395 which will work the tire size ST205/75R15, though since it has a load rating of 1,820lbs you will be limited to this lower rating. This tire has an outer diameter of 27.3" and a tire width of 8.1".

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
