Fit of Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Rack on 2013 Toyota Prius II

Question:

If I have this rack mounted on my Prius with the bikes on it, can I open the back hatch? Also, I notice that this rack doesnt have an anti-rattle mount at the hitch. Is this an issue? Im looking for a light weight rack thats easy to take on an off the car and compact to store in my garage that hold my bikes securely.

Because we have not had the opportunity to test fit the # S63360 Swagman Trailhead bike rack on a 2013 Prius, I could not say if you will have hatch clearance with the bikes in place.

The rack includes a threaded anti-rattle hitch pin. A locking anti-rattle hitch pin/cable lock is available separately as part # S64031. The rack is lightweight, as well as easy to install and remove from the vehicle. The rack offers an angled shank that raises the rack up by three inches, which will help compensate for the the low ground clearance of your Prius.

The Swagman XTC-2, part # S64670 is a popular choice that features an anti-rattle hitch pin and an angled shank to raise the rack up 3 inches above the level of the receiver for maximum ground clearance. Once the bikes are removed from the rack, the center mast of the rack can be folded down for full access to the cargo area of your vehicle. The wheel hoops and padded ratcheting hooks would do an excellent job of securely holding your bikes. An optional locking anti-rattle hitch pin, part # S64029 is available separately.

I have linked you to product demonstration videos for both racks, as well as a video showing the XTC-2 being test fit on a 2012 Prius.
