Troubleshooting Curt TriFlex Brake Controller C24VV Sending Constant Power To Trailer Brakes

Question:

2017 ford transit 250 blue wire off controler is hot all the time. all other wires are connected correctly dose this mean the controler is bad out of the box.

I am sorry to hear you are having an issue with the Curt TriFlex trailer brake controller # C24VV in your 2017 Ford Transit T-250.

I recommend using a circuit tester # PTW2993 to test the wires on the controller. The most common cause for this issue is when the red brake signal wire is connected to constant power and not the cold side of the stop light switch that only has power when the brake pedal is pressed.

If the red wire on the controller is connected correctly to the cold side of the stop light switch then there is an internal issue in the controller and it will need to be replaced.
