What Bike Carrier Do You Recommend for a RadRover 5 Fat-Tire E-Bike for a 2019 Honda Passport?
Question:
Need assistance on a bike carrier. I have a 2019 Honda Passport, and want to haul a RadRover 5 fat tire 4. It has a 2inch receiver with oil cooler and everything else. I am 68 years old and with health issues that keeps reminding me that I am not as strong as a 20 year old. I do want to get my bride an ebike in the future, so I would want one that can haul two ebikes. Thanks for your time.

I called a representative from Rad Power Bikes, and he informed be that the RadRover 5 weighs 60 pounds with the bike's battery removed. Rad Power Bikes and us here at etrailer recommend that you remove the battery while transporting the bikes in order to avoid any unnecessary damage from bumps or torque.
With the 60 pound weight of the bike, I recommend the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202. One of the best features of the EasyFold XT is that it comes with an integrated ramp that allows you to simply roll your bike from the ground to the platform. The EasyFold XT has a per-bike weight capacity of 66 pounds, so that is plenty of capacity for the 60-pound bike weight of the RadRover 5 with the battery removed. Since you have 4-inch fat tires on your bike, you will need to purchase the Fat Bike Straps for Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack - Qty 2 # TH985101 in order for the bike to secure into the cradles. Since the EasyFold XT has a position for a second bike, it will be ready for when you buy an e-bike for your wife.
