Will the Tekonsha P3 Controller Drain My Battery if it Never Shuts Off
Question:
I have a 2006 GMC Sierra and have a 7 pin pre-wired to my truck. When I plug in the wiring harness to the P3 I always have power. It does not matter if I have the key in and started or not. Will this wear down my battery?

It is possible that leaving the # 90195 Tekonsha Prodigy P3 with power could drain your car battery if it is for an extremely long period of time, but it would take months. When the vehicle is turned off, the brake controller will go into a sleep mode, so it should not be of any real concern.
