Recommended Brake Controller for a 2021 Jaguar F-Pace
Question:
Hi I have a 2021 Jaguar F-Pace. The dealer is installing the towbar and wiring which includes a wiring module. Ive been told this does not affect the brakes so I would need a brake controller. This vehicle is not well known and has a lot of electronics so I want to be sure I get the correct controller and parts. Can you help? Im hoping someone may have some experience with this vehicle. Thanks PS - planning to tow a 22ft travel trailer aprox 3,500lbs unloaded

Though we do not done any brake controller installs on a 2021 Jaguar F-Pace, we do still have some options available for you.
First will be a wired controller that will mount inside the cab of the vehicle. The Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 will handle up to 4 axles on a trailer, is very easy to use, and being a proportional controller, will brake the trailer as much as you are braking in the towing vehicle. However, you will also need the # 20127 to plug the controller into the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This will piggyback of your current 4 Flat wiring harness and get you up to the 7 Way needed, which is included. It will also include all the wiring and circuit breakers needed to get everything working.
If you prefer to not have a controller mounted inside the vehicle, the Curt Echo # C51180 will be a better option. You will need the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L to get the needed power to the included 7 Way, but it will not need anything wired inside the vehicle. All you need to control the # C51180 is a smart phone, though I do suggest getting the Manual Override Button # C83HR as an add on. This allows you to not even need your smart phone after the initial set up of the controller.
