Will the Kuat Transfer V2 Clear a Bumper on a 2020 Kia Sorrento with a Draw-Tite Hitch?
Question:
I have a 2020 Kia Sorento with a Draw Tite 2 inch receiver hitch. Distance from center of hitch pin hole to edge of rear bumper is 6 inches. In order to have sufficient clearance to fold this rack and make sure the bike mounted closest to the car will not come into contact with it will I need to use the Kuat rack with a receiver extension, such as #Y69VR?

Expert Reply:
Since the length is 6 inches from the hitch pinhole of the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 75908 to the end of the bumper of your 2020 Kia Sorento, you will be able to clear your bumper of your vehicle when using the Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # KU84FR without the use of a hitch extender. This is because the closest part of the Transfer V2 is 6-1/2 inches. In addition, you will not have an issue with bumper clearance while the rack is folded or unfolded.
One thing to keep in mind is the rear hatch clearance on your vehicle. While the hatch will open with most bike styles loaded on the Transfer V2, it is important to note that if you have bikes with longer handlebars, the handlebars of the bike in the front position may come in contact with the rear hatch. If you are concerned about this, feel free to provide me with the length of your bike's handlebars and I can assist you.
