Can I Convert My Titan Surge Brake Actuator To Have A Reverse Lockout?

Question:

2000 Express Cargo Trailer with Titan Surge drum brakes Do you know if the older titan surge brake actuator systems had a manual reverse lock-out mechanism? I have a 12,000 unit that doesnt have an electric solenoid lock-up within the brake line system. Wondering if a lock-out pin or hole was designed into these older systems.

I am not aware of any Titan Surge Brake Actuators having an available manual lockout for them. It is possible to convert some of the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T2477600 to an electric lockout.

To do this you will need the Solenoid Valve for Titan Brake Actuators # T4748800 that will work with Titan Model 6, Model 60, Aero 7500, and newer Model 10 and Model 20 actuators.

For 2000 and older Model 10 actuators, a Solenoid Adapter Fitting # T4750200 will be needed.

A Solenoid Shield for Titan Model 10 and Model 20 Trailer Brake Actuators # T4836100183 will help to protect the solenoid from damage.

The Curt Trailer Connector Adapter # C57187 will allow you to tap into the reverse wire circuit on your vehicle if you only have a 4-way flat connector available.

The Hopkins Endurance 5-Way Flat Trailer Connector # HM47910 will allow you to hardwire in the 5-way on your 2000 Express Cargo Trailer. The Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05744-5 will provide for you a water tight connection.
