Trailer Wiring Harness With a Powered Converter for a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon
Question:
I have a 2003 Jetta Wagon that has a flat four connector but it does not have its own power supply, so it really messes with the cars other systems. When I hit the brakes, the rear wiper would come on and the emergency flasher indicator on the dash would start flashing, etc. Do you sell a specific wire loom that has a separate power wire that will work on the Jetta? I have heard that one exists out there.

We do have a wiring harness with a powered converter for your 2003 Volkswagen Jetta Wagon. I recommend using the Kit # C59236. Since you are having power issues with your current wiring harness, I recommend removing that wiring harness completely and install the new harness per the installation instructions. I have attached the instructions for you to look over.
This harness includes a circuit tester, so I recommend using that circuit tester to probe the wires going into your tail light assembly to ensure you are splicing this wiring harness into the correct tail light circuits. If your Jetta Wagon has a 2-wire system, meaning your brake lights and turn signals use the same wire, then you will need to ground the red wire from the wiring harness with the white ground wire.
If your vehicle has a 3-wire system, meaning the brake lights and turn signals have separate wires, then you will use the red wire to connect to the brake light wire. I have attached a help article that should help you route the power wire for this wiring harness.
