Notes on installation states the mount can be installed on the hybrid. Rear gate auto function will probably be cancelled.

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e75ZR will fit the hybrid version of your 2021 Toyota Highlander. The only trim that this receiver will not work on is a XSE trim. The receiver has a maximum tongue weight rating of 500lbs and maximum trailer weight rating of 5,000lbs.
The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK99FR will allow you to use the lights on a small trailer or to use Auxiliary Lights # C53201 on a cargo carrier or bike rack if they block visiability of your Highlander's taillights.
The 60x24 etrailer Cargo Carrier # e98874 has inside dimensions for the carrier are 60" long x 24" wide x 5-1/2" deep. This will pair well with the etrailer Cargo Bag w/ Mounting Straps # 988501. The water resistant bag will help protect your gear from rain and damaging UV rays. The bag is capable of holding 20 cubic feet of additional gear. A Master Lock Covered, Solid Body Padlock # 131D can be used to secure the zipper closure and protect your gear.
