Where Should a Fulton Fold Away hinge be Located on a Single Jet Ski Trailer
Question:
I have the bolt on coupler and going to put it on my single jet ski trailer. I was playing around with the location for the cut. The crank for the wheel and crank for the winch are close to each other and the tounge is not that long. Also the tounge weight is very little since it is a single jet ski. So the question is can I put the coupler between the winch and wheel? So the wheel will be on the swing away part? I would swing it back in place for any movement more than a couple feet. But I think the single pivit would be strong enough, the tounge weight is probably less than 80 lbs.

There are certain maximum pivots you can go up to depending on the gross trailer weight and tongue weight. You will first need to stay within those guidelines as described in the picture I have included. To me, it seems like the best and safest place to put the hinge would be forward of a jack or winch so as not to put stress on the hinge.
