Compatible Roof Rack for Yakima SkyRise Tent on 2017 Jeep Cherokee
Question:
Can the Yakima SkyRise HD rooftop tent be installed on my 2017 Jeep Cherokee with factory sidebars and a Rhino Vortex StealthBar Roof Rack system?

The Yakima SkyRise HD Tent For Roof Rack Crossbars # Y07436 requires a crossbar spread of 26"-40.5" and a minimum load carrying capacity on crossbars of 165 lbs. After speaking with Yakima, you will also need crossbars that are at least 50" long at a minimum for the tent to fit. The # JA7972 Rhino Vortex StealthBar crossbars are only 30-7/8" long so they will not work.
I recommend the Thule Rapid Crossroads Aero Bar Roof Rack for your 2017 Cherokee. This has a load capacity of 165 lbs and 53" long bars. This will work with your factory installed rails. The system consists of the # TH711420 Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars and the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401.
Since you have raised side-rails, you want to position the crossbars as close as possible to rail supports without exceeding the 40.5" spread. This should work, but you will want to ensure that the roof does not deform when heavy loads are applied according to the SkyRise instructions.
I have attached an installation and review video of the Thule rack for your reference.
