Can Electric Sway Control Be Used With Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller C51180?

Question:

Can I use the 81775UPG Hayes Master Electric Sway controller with the Curt Echo Brake Controller, WD hitch, and Reese sway bar? I am looking for additional insurance should I hit some wind on my next trip. Also, I have 2021 Hyundai Palisade AWD SEL - will this work with that vehicle? I know the Palisade is supposed to have some sort of Trailer Sway Control - but do not fully understand if it uses trailer brakes or only vehicle and if it works with the Echo. THANKS!

I have another option for you, but the Hayes Sway Master Electronic Sway Control System HA81775 you were looking at has actually been discontinued by Hayes and is no longer available.

Instead I recommend the Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 which does the same thing of monitoring the sway of your trailer via the built in gyroscope, and correcting it by strategically applying the brakes on your trailer so you never even feel the sway.

This will work just fine with the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 you mentioned.

I looked up the owner's manual for your 2021 Hyundai Palisade and did not find any information about built in trailer sway control, and actually found where Hyundai recommended purchasing aftermarket sway control.

Now you could absolutely add the Reese Friction sway control # 83660, but if I am being honest you will see no benefit in using this as the # 335TSC-1000 will eliminate the sway before the Reese system even has a chance to do anything.

Instead I would just go with the electronic sway control, and if for some reason in the future you would rather add the friction sway control you would absolutely be able to.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
