How To Carry RadPower Electric Bike On Bike Hitch Rack
Question:
I just purchased a RadPower Electric Bike. It is the step through model no crossbar and weighs 70 lbs. Im looking for a lightweight safe way to transport it to trailheads. I have a 2inch trailer hitch, currently on a Ford Excursion. I believe this fits the bill, do you agree?

If you have a heavy e-bike and you are looking for a safe way to transport a bike to the trailhead, a motorcycle rack is a good alternative. The Ultra-Fab Dirt Bike Carrier, part # UF48-979033, is a 2" hitch rack that weighs 50lbs. This rack includes a ramp, making it easy to load a heavy bike. It has multiple spots to tie down your bike, keeping it secure. This is also a good option if your bike has fenders. This rack does not come with cables that secure your bike to the rack.
Another option is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches, part # HLY84FR. It is a 2" hitch rack that can carry bikes up to 80lbs. The rack itself weighs 56lbs. It has an anti-rattle hitch pin that removes movement between the bike rack and the hitch receiver. As an added bonus it also locks the rack to your vehicle. This rack comes with cables that allow you to lock the bike to the rack. The rack folds up when not in use and it can be tilted down when carrying bikes to allow you access to the rear of the vehicle. This rack secures the bikes via the top tube with a padded clamping arm. Since your bike is a step through frame you need the Hollywood Racks Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes, part # HRBA-PRO. This bar attaches between the seat and the handlebar stem of your bike. The clamp on this bike rack would then clamp this adapter bar.
