Parts Needed To Replace Slipper Springs With Double Eye Springs
Question:
I cant find a 27 slipper leaf spring AND my trailer has two eye brackets.... the rear one is NOT a slipper bracket. Can I replace the current slipper spring with one with 2 eyes? 18 foot pontoon boat used MAYBE 5 times a summer. Getting too old for yachting. Thanks!

If your trailer truly has a front and rear bracket for double eye springs you can absolutely use the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles - 27" Long # SP-210275 you were looking at as a replacement. With that said while the hangers may look alike, they are typically not the same.
This spring is designed for 3500lb axles so you will want to make sure that your trailers axle has the same rating. If the spring is rated too high you will get a stiff ride, and if the spring is underrated you will not get the support you need. You can verify the axle rating of your axle by looking for the axle tag on the center of the axle, or if it is missing you can take the GVWR of the trailer and divide it by the number of axles to get a good idea.
Honestly since the slipper springs your trailer use are so uncommon and hard to find I would just go ahead and have the hangers replaced with the # APS4 which will allow you to use the # e84SR if you have a 2000lb axle, or # e66SR if you have a 2500lb axle.
While this is a bit more work, this will guarantee that you will be able to find the correct leaf springs now and in the future, as the length of springs this kit uses is common.
