Will Viking Solutions Stack Rack 2 Cargo Carrier Allow Access To Trunk On 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan?

With the pin pulled to allow tilting forward will the hatch open on my 2019 Grand Caravan? Also, due to the intended usage of this carrier, can the top basket be mounted upside down, allowing for the basket bottom, to now be on the top?

We have not tested the Viking Solutions Stack Rack II 2-Level Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 310-VSR201 on a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan so I cannot say for sure if it will allow the rear hatch to be opened. That said, I attached a demonstration video which shows this cargo carrier installed on a Jeep SUV and you can see that there is plenty of the room for the rear hatch to be opened, so it would likely work fine for your vehicle as well.

To be sure that you will have access to the trunk, you can add a hitch extender such as Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" # C45791. This would extend the cargo carrier out another 8" from the receiver to allow for the rear hatch to be opened. Keep in mind, this adapter will reduce the overall trailer hitch capacity by 50%.

There would be nothing stopping you from mounting the baskets upside down, however, I don't recommend doing this because they are not designed to be used upside down. I attached a couple demonstration videos for you.
