Recommended Temporary Roof Rack That Can Be Removed When Not In Use

Question:

I am considering the Malone Handi-rack for 2019 Hyundai Sonata PHEV. I did try a similar set up a few years back but I do not believe they were the inflatable. My biggest concern is that the one I used caused some small dents on the edges of my car roof. This is worrisome as my current car is a leased vehicle and it is imperative that I keep it in pristine condition. This would to transport a sit on top fishing kayak.

I think the Malone HandiRack Universal Fit Roof Rack - Inflatable - 180 lbs # MPG452 would work great for you. When inflated it sits 4" from your roof, whereas other similar options on the market sit only 3" from the roof and do not provide quite as much clearance as the Malone HandiRack.

I do not see any customer feedback stating that the HandiRack damaged or scratched their vehicle in anyway; this should not happen if the kayak or other cargo is secured properly to the inflatable roof rack. This is your best option for a temporary roof rack that can be easily removed whenever you are not using it. I attached a demonstration video for you.
