The Blue Ox BX7365 "Alpha" tow bar has been discontinued and was replaced by the # BX7380 "Alpha 2" which includes an improved non-binding system, and now includes safety cables. Otherwise their specifications are the same.

Since the BX7365 that you received is used, you should keep in mind that the warranty period was only 3 years and all tow bars only have a 7 - 10 year life span. Depending on its age, you may want to consider replacing it with the new Alpha 2. I believe if you call Blue Ox with your serial number they can tell you how old it is.

At a minimum have the tow bar and your base plates inspected by a knowledgeable service technician for cracks or other damage.

The correct Blue Ox Base Plate Kit for your CRV is # BX2258. To complete your set up ou will need # RM-645 safety cables if you don't already have them, plus a # RM-152-98146-7 flat tow wiring kit, and the Brake Buddy # HM39524 supplemental braking kit.
