Recommended Surge Brake Actuator To Replace Atwood 82541 On 1098 Trail-Rite Boat Trailer

Question:

I have a 1985 Trail-Rite boat trailer with an Atwood 82541 brake actuator and drum brakes. What brake actuator would be the best replacement for my trailer? The Atwood has a 3inch on center bolt pattern and the trailer tongue is 3inch square tube. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards

To replace the Atwood 82541 surge brake actuator on your 1985 Trail-Rite boat trailer with drum brakes I recommend the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator - Drum - Multi-Fit Ball - Bolt On - 7,000 lbs # T43397007K which will fit your 3" wide tongue perfectly, and has the same 3" bolt pattern as your current actuator.

The # T43397007K does not have a built in reverse lockout, so if you do not have free backing brakes you will also need reverse lockout solenoid # T4748800

The # DM62VR you were looking at is for trailers with disc brakes and would have way to much pressure for your drum brakes.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
