Will the Flint Hill Goods Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Fit when Folded Up on a 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan

Question:

Am looking to purchase a cargo carrierwith ramp would be ideal to be attached to my 2inch tow bar. This is for hauling equipment and dollies, as well as lawn mower and access. Do you know if this cargo carrier is able to fold up behind the tiguan?

On the Flint Hill Goods hitch mount cargo carrier, # FHG77ZR, the distance from center of hitch pin hole to closest edge of carrier in the upright folded position is 7-1/4 inches.

You will need to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole on your hitch straight back to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 4-3/4 inches then the carrier will fit when folded up.

On trailer hitches we have installed on a 2011 Tiguan we have found that the pin hole to bumper measurement is approximately 3 inches leaving enough space for the carrier to fold. But you will still want to measure on yours just to be sure. I linked a video review of this carrier for you.
