Parts Needed to Allow a 2015 Ford F-150 to Tow a Trailer With LED Lights
Question:
Hi etrailer, Im looking to upgrade my camp trailer lights to LED. First attempt was a fail... Installed LED tail lights and my 2015 F150 displayed a tail light out warning. I added a resister which solved that problem. Next problem... the resister was so hot it melted the plastic lens cover. Went back to the stock lights. Trying again.... I was looking that the 7-Way Trailer Adapter for Towing Trailers with LED Lights Item # C57003. Do you have any experience with this adapter and the F150? Will this work or another product? Any heat or other issues? Thank you!

The Ford trucks have had some challenges when pairing with trailers that use LED lights, but the Curt # C57003 solves this issue completely. The built-in resistors enable LED signals from your trailer to be read by your vehicle's computer and will get you back up and running properly.
As will all electrical components, there will be a little heat due to the power running through the part, but definitely not to the point of melting anything or being too hot to handle safely.
