Determining Correct Weight Distribution Hitch For Towing W/ 2005 Toyota Sequoia

The Curt MV Weight Distribution System - Round Bar - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # C17050 you were looking at very well may work with your 2005 Toyota Sequoia, but to confirm this you will need to verify the total tongue weight of your setup.

Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your vehicle. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a tongue weight scale like the # e99044 but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.

As long as your total tongue weight falls between 500-600lbs the # C17050 will work just fine. This hitch does not included a hitch ball or sway control so you will need 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286, and sway control # 17200.

If your tongue weight is a bit lower then I recommend going with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA92-00-0600 which works with total tongue weights between 250-600lbs and has built in two point sway control so you will not need to purchase sway control separately. This hitch also does not include a hitch ball so you will still need 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286.
