Determining Which Ball Mount Is Needed To Tow Trailer Level W/ 2020 GMC Sierra 2500
Question:
I have a 2021 gmc 2500 AT 4 and am looking for a hitch that is not adjustable. What is the best all around that would accommodate a standard utility trailer. I have a 5 1/4 on now and it seems too much. I’m thinking maybe a 4 inch would meet my needs. What are your thoughts ?

I would be happy to help you find the correct drop ball mount for towing your utility trailer with your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500, but the only way to get the correct ball mount is to measure your truck and trailer.
You will want to measure from the ground to the top inside edge of the trailer hitch receiver, and then with the trailer level measure from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer.
The difference in these measurements will tell you exactly the amount of drop that you will need to tow your trailer level.
If you find that a 4" drop is correct to level your trailer then I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 2" Rise, 4" Drop - 7.5K # C45554 which includes a 2" hitch ball, a standard hitch pin and a locking hitch pin.
I included a video of the # C45554 and a link to measuring for the correct drop ball mount for you to take a look at.
