Is Torque Wrench Necessary to Install Hitch on 2016 Honda CR-V
Question:
Is a torque wrench absolutely necessary and how far is the reach up on the driver side through the black plastic cover on the bottom? Do I need a wrench extension?

Expert Reply:
A torque wrench is indeed necessary to install the Draw-Tite # 75742 Class III hitch, and a 9 inch extension is recommended to reach through the under body panel to install the hitch attachment bolts. Correctly torqueing the bolts will ensure they don't come loose.
The good news here is that if you can't borrow a torque wrench from a friend or neighbor, you might be able to borrow one from the loan a tool service that many auto parts stores offer. If you'll be towing with the hitch, you'd also need a trailer wiring harness like part # 118561, a ball mount like # 2753 and a trailer ball like # 19260 for a 1-7/8 inch or # 63845 for a 2 inch.
I've linked to an install video for the hitch and the trailer wiring.
