How To Determine If Load Rating of Westlake ST235/75R15 WST54FR Is High Enough For Trailer

Question:

I see your site has this tire with the below specs. Maximum load: 2,910 lbs at 65 psi This is the same tire on a Geo Pro G16BH which is GVWR 3,961 lb. Would you add both tires to be able to carry the weight? Any other similar tires for replacments?

Yes. To figure out if a tire is able to support the weight of your trailer you need to take the max load rating of the tire and multiple it by the number of tires on your trailer.

Since your Geo Pro G16BH has a GVWR of 3961lbs and has two tires, and the Westlake ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Trailer Tire - Load Range D # WST54FR has a load rating of 2,910-lb at 65 PSI they will be more than capable as the combined weight capacity will be 5820lbs.

Another option that will fit your trailer is the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range E # AM10303. This is a high quality tire which is a go to for quite a few of our customers, but will be roughly 3/4" narrower and 1/2" shorter than your current ST235/75R15 tires.

The # AM10303 has a load rating of 2830lbs per tire at 80 PSI so it will still more plenty strong for your trailer.

If you are doing mostly highway driving then I recommend going with the # AM10303 as it will be a bit quieter when on the road compared to the # WST54FR due to the difference in tread design.

I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
