Flat-Towed Vehicles and Hitch Racks

Why does the warranty exclude the rack on a towed vehicle?

When you purchase a bicycle hitch rack you buy that rack with the company's unspoken assurance that it has gone through rigorous real world testing. There are weight limits for the bike, a total weight limit for the rack, a warranty, etc.. But a towed vehicle introduces other variables, such as extra movement, bounce, and the inability to avoid obstalces, etc.

I do have a solution that works for that application. The Yakima HoldUp EVO Bike Rack for 2 Bikes, part # Y02479, is a rack that can be attached to a flat-towed vehicle. It will work with fat-tire bikes, ebikes, as well as traditional bikes. I have attached a link below. The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack, part # RKY10004, you expressed interest in is not rated for a flat-towed vehicle.
