Does Adding a Lift Kit and Larger Tires Lower the Towing Capacity of a 1999 Jeep Wrangler  

Question:

I have a 1999 jeep tj i removed a 75193 . Now I plan on towing a small camper no more then 1200 lb I have a 2inch lift and 33x1250 r15 tiers my ? is what problems will i have towing if any with my lift set-up and a 75193 hitch

Having a lift and larger tires on your 1999 Jeep Wrangler can diminish the towing capacity of the vehicle some but not enough to worry about it with a trailer weighing only 1,200 pounds. Changes to the vehicle do not affect the hitches capacity but ultimately you would go by the vehicle if it is lower. The changes made to the vehicle do make the capacity unknown but like I said they would not diminish it nearly enough to be a problem for such a light load.

You will most likely need a ball mount with more drop because the vehicle is higher. I have included a link to our FAQ article that explains how to measure for the correct rise or drop for a ball mount. And I have linked the ball mount main page for you.
