How to Determine Spring Bar Rating of Blue Ox Weight Distribution System
Question:
How do I Know which Blue Ox Sway do I currently have? My new Trailer max weigh is 11,200 lb. With a tonge weigh of 1,030 lb. I will be towing it with our 2020 GMC 2500 HD Fuel truck. Do I need to purchase a new all toguether? Thank you so much.

Blue Ox has an easy system for determining the weight capacity of your spring bars, whereas other companies may use measurements or printed capacity to assist. With Blue Ox, there is a 5 dimple system: No dimples means it is rated for up to 350 lbs total tongue weight. One dimple means it is rated for up to 550 lbs. Two dimples indicates up to 750 lbs. Three dimples indicates up to 1,000 lbs. Four dimples indicates up to 1,500 lbs tongue weight. Five dimples indicates up to 2,000 lbs total tongue weight.
I've attached videos of a couple of these sizes so you can see these dimples/notches.
350 to 550 lbs # BXW4005
550-750 lbs # BXW4006
750 to 1,000 lbs # BXW4007
1,000 to 1,500 lbs # BXW4008 (this would be what you'd need based on your tongue weight)
1,500 to 2,000 lbs # BXW4014
